Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to function as an expert in advanced examinations and treatments under direct supervision of a Physician and/or RN. The role supports patient care, supervises MA tasks, and may schedule appointments while ensuring medical necessity and eligibility compliance.

The Sr. MA will act as a preceptor and clinical resource to Medical Assistants, training others as appropriate and ensuring adherence to CLIA, HIPAA, and NCQA

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant credentials with BLS required.
• Five years MA experience with complex chronic disease management or a specialty discipline.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatments and dressing changes.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify eligibility for care.
• Provide preceptor and clinical resource support to Medical Assistants.
• Maintain compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA and government standards.
