Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) to provide expert medical assistance under direct supervision of a physician or registered nurse for assigned patient populations. This role supports advanced examinations, treatments, and delegated tasks while ensuring compliance with CLIA, HIPAA, and NCQA standards.

The Sr. MA will assist in procedures, coordinate clinical workflows, and schedule appointments.

Qualifications

• Five years medical assistant experience with highly complex, chronic disease management or in a specialty discipline.
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, writing) to support patient safety and care.
• Certification in Medical Assisting (CMA/RMA/NCCT/NHA) and BLS.

Responsibilities

• Role models and promotes a positive work environment within the interprofessional care team.
• Collaborates with the care team and reports pertinent patient data to physicians and nurses.
• Independently executes duties as a preceptor and clinical resource, mentoring colleagues.
