Hy-Vee is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with prescriptions, insurance billing, and customer service in a fast-paced retail setting. You will assist in preparing medications, handling intake, and maintaining patient records with accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified as a licensed technician through a certified national program required; must maintain continuing education requirements to keep license active.
• Vaccination certification required if administering vaccines, as required by law.
• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician or pharmacy clerk preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Handle inquiries that do not require a pharmacist's expertise.
• Process new written prescriptions and telephoned refill requests as directed by the supervising pharmacist.
• Contact doctors to request or confirm refills.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
• Prepare and affix labels and prepare prescriptions for mailing.
• Submit insurance claims and assist with third-party billing and troubleshooting.
• Maintain accurate patient information and ensure HIPAA confidentiality.
