Hy-Vee is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists with prescription processing, insurance billing, and patient service in a fast-paced retail pharmacy. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certified as a licensed pharmacy technician through a certified national program required; must maintain continuing education.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Handle inquiries that do not require pharmacist expertise.
• Accept new written prescription orders and telephone refill requests as directed by supervising pharmacist.
• Contact doctors to obtain or request refills as needed.
• Gather and maintain accurate patient information for prescriptions.
• Assist pharmacists in preparing prescription drug products for dispensing.
• Prepare and affix labels to containers and prepare prescriptions to be mailed.
• Submit insurance claims and assist with third-party billing/troubleshooting.
• File prescriptions after dispensing and report medication errors.
• Stock and log invoices for pharmacy supplies.
• Perform cash transactions accurately.
• Administer vaccines as allowed by law with certification where applicable.
• Maintain cleanliness and confidentiality per HIPAA.
• Adhere to all pharmacy statutes and regulations.
