Job summary

Job description

Position Summary

Working under the day‑to‑day supervision of the pharmacists and Pharmacy leadership, the Pharmacy Technician II is responsible for the proper handling of medications. Duties include receiving, distributing, managing expiration dates, managing inventory in Pyxis, storage, repackaging, compounding, filling orders, delivering, and stocking. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform hazardous compounding
  • Perform batch sterility tests
  • Monitor at least one Key Performance Indicator or produce at least one Key Process Improvement
  • Assist in revising training materials
  • Demonstrate intermediate skill performance by performing at least one of the following: intermediate purchasing skills, decentralized pharmacy services, medication histories, or ADC optimization
  • Comply with HIPAA policies
  • Perform excellent record‑keeping, accuracy, and handoffs when dealing with Controlled Substances, and immediately report any concerns or discrepancies to pharmacist or supervisor
Job Requirements
  • Current Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification and current MA Pharmacy Technician license
Knowledge and Skills
  • Able to perform gloved fingertip and media fill test as required
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Basic math needed for compounding
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to problem‑solve
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
Compensation

$20.25 – $30.10 per hour. Additional total compensation may include medical, dental, vision, pharmacy benefits, contract increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, earned time cash‑out, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and other resources to support employee and family wellbeing.
