Job summary

PeerStar is seeking a compassionate Certified Peer Support Specialist (CPS) to assist older adults in senior living settings on their recovery and wellness journeys. You will listen, encourage, advocate, and share lived experience to empower others toward meaningful goals.

This role can be full-time or part-time, with certification support and a strong emphasis on person-centered care within community-based services across Pennsylvania.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and experience in the recovery process from mental health disorders and/or substance use.
• Eighteen (18) years of age and older.
• High school diploma or GED (preferred).
• Has completed a Pennsylvania-certified peer specialist training curriculum.
• Criminal History Clearances - PA State Police, Child Abuse, FBI.

• Provide peer support to older adults navigating recovery and wellness goals.
• Advocate, listen, and support clients using lived experience to assist healing.
• Build trust and empowerment through relationship-centered support.
