Job summary

Anew Behavioral Health is a strengths-based recovery program focused on positive psychology, offering a supportive environment for long-term sobriety and growth. We seek a Peer Support Specialist to provide non-clinical, recovery-oriented support to residents and to collaborate with the treatment team.

Applicants without active Peer Support Certification will not be considered. Regular in-person attendance is required, and this is a 1099 Contractor position in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Requires Peer Support Specialist Certification and successful UDS.
• Background check (BCI) required; fair chance employer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills essential.
• Ability to maintain confidential client records and reports.

Responsibilities

• Provide non-clinical, recovery-oriented support to residents.
• Meet with mental health professionals to establish treatment plans.
• Offer coaching, emotional support, and advocacy.
• Assist clients with scheduling and attending appointments.
• Report concerns about health and safety to the care team.
• Maintain accurate client encounter records and recovery reviews.
• Ensure client confidentiality at all times.
