Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support patients of all ages in applying therapeutic activities that align with the therapy plan of care and motivate progress. You will collaborate with the OT, document patient responses, and help with ROM measurements, ADLs training, and modalities as ordered.

This role requires clear communication with patients, families, and the care team, along with accurate daily EMR entries and a commitment to quality service delivery.

Responsibilities

• Follows the therapist's plan of care.
• Adjusts treatment based on patient response after coordinating with the evaluating therapist and documenting communication in the daily note.
• Implements patient-centered, occupation-based intervention plans.
• Demonstrates a sequential plan of treatment considering patient and family needs within allotted time.
• Adapts activities to meet physical, cognitive, and behavioral limitations.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and significant others throughout OT process.
• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other providers using effective teaching methods.
• Communicates clearly with the care team and paysers with professional documentation.
