Responsibilities

• Follows the therapist's plan of care and documents communication with the evaluating therapist.
• Implements patient-centered, occupation-based intervention plans.
• Adapts activities to meet physical, cognitive, and behavioral needs.
• Changes treatment approaches based on environment and outcomes.
• Collaborates with patient, family, and significant others throughout the OT process.
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Produces clear, objective documentation to support decisions and payers.
• Participates in activities addressing quality of service delivery.
• Communicates progress with the referring provider as needed.
• Provides ROM measurements of the elbow, wrist, and hand; trains in ADLs such as dressing and cooking skills.
