Responsibilities

• Follows the therapist's plan of care.
• Adjusts the treatment based on patient response and communicates with the evaluating therapist before daily documentation.
• Implements intervention plans that are patient-centered and occupation-based, adapting to patient response.
• Demonstrates a sequential plan of treatment considering the patient's functional and emotional needs and the environment.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and other health care providers; educates patients and caregivers using effective teaching methods.
• Produces clear, objective documentation supporting decisions for payers and clinical teams.
• Communicates progress with the team and refers to the occupational therapist when direction is needed.
• Completes range of motion measurements of the elbow, wrist, and hand; trains patients on ADLs.
