Job summary

Hanger Clinic in Dothan, AL seeks an Orthotic Fitter, Certified to provide independent patient care and fit off-the-shelf and pre-fabricated orthoses. The role includes device evaluation, patient instruction, and ongoing follow-up under supervision as needed.

Responsibilities also cover accurate medical notes, collaboration with physicians and clinical staff, and ensuring compliance with Medicare, HIPAA and OSHA safety requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Fitter or Orthotics (ABC).
• Must have or be eligible for a valid driver's license and driving record per policy.

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patient needs related to disease and functional loss.
• Provide independent patient care for devices within scope.
• Evaluate orthotic devices for fit, function, and safety; adjust as needed.
• Instruct patients in use of orthotic devices.
• Document detailed clinical notes and support reimbursement activities.
• Coordinate follow-ups with patients and physicians; provide in-service training.
• Adhere to Medicare, HIPAA and OSHA regulations; maintain safety standards.
• Support other clinical staff and participate in special projects.
