Job summary

Hanger, Inc. is seeking an Orthotic Fitter to provide independent patient care for orthotic devices in a clinic setting. You will evaluate needs, adjust devices for proper fit and function, and instruct patients on device use. Collaboration with physicians and staff is essential to ensure optimal outcomes.

Candidates should hold a high school diploma or GED, with an Associate degree preferred and ABC certification. A valid driver’s license is required for occasional travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Current certification as a Certified Fitter or Orthotics (ABC) is required or must be eligible.
• Must have, or be eligible to obtain, a valid driver’s license and driving record per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Examine and evaluate patients’ needs related to disease and functional loss.
• Provide independent patient care for devices within scope.
• Evaluate orthotic devices and adjust for fit, function and efficacy.
• Instruct patients in use of orthotic devices.
• Identify and resolve issues to ensure patient satisfaction with devices.
• Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records and assist with reimbursement data.
• Follow up with patients and physicians; provide in-service training to staff.
• Assist other clinical staff and adhere to safety, HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
