Job summary

OrthoVirginia is seeking a Certified Orthopedic Surgical Coder | Charge Capture to translate surgical activity into accurate coding, charges, and reimbursement. Onsite role supporting the Operatory team at Shrader Road and Westchester Commons.

You will review cases, apply CPT/HCPCS/modifier codes, reconcile records, collaborate with surgeons and Materials Management, and audit for charge accuracy to prevent revenue loss.

Qualifications

• Current coding credential such as CPC, CCS-P, CRC, or equivalent.
• Orthopedic experience with knowledge of surgical procedures, workflows, instrumentation, implants and supplies.
• Experience in a surgical setting (ASC, hospital OR, or operatory) and CPT/HCPCS knowledge.
• Experience with EHR systems, plus strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review completed orthopedic surgical cases to ensure procedures, implants, supplies, and other billable items are captured accurately.
• Apply CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers; reconcile operative records with supporting documents.
• Collaborate with surgeons and clinical teams to resolve documentation gaps before claims processing.
• Audit surgical cases for coding accuracy and support revenue integrity across workflows.

You’ll combine your orthopedic surgical knowledge with coding expertise to ensure surgical cases are accurately documented, coded, and billed.
