Job summary

OrthoVirginia is seeking a Certified Orthopedic Surgical Coder to translate surgical activity into accurate coding, charges and reimbursement. This onsite role supports our Operatory, Materials Management, and Revenue Cycle teams across Shrader Road and Westchester Commons locations.

You will review cases, apply CPT/HCPCS codes, and audit documentation to ensure revenue integrity. A CPC/CCS-P or equivalent credential, orthopedic knowledge, and EHR experience are required, with Epic knowledge a

• Experience in orthopedic surgical coding.
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS and modifiers.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Experience with EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review orthopedic surgical cases to ensure procedures, implants and supplies are captured.
• Apply CPT/HCPCS codes and modifiers to operative documentation.
• Reconcile records with PO/bill-only docs to verify usage.
• Collaborate with surgeons and teams to resolve discrepancies before claims.
• Audit cases to identify missing charges and prevent revenue loss.
• Maintain accurate information in EHR and inventory systems.
