Job summary

Recover-Care in Conway Springs, KS seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist therapists, develop treatment plans, and document patient progress under state laws. You will support routine OT procedures and help clients function independently in daily activities.

Responsibilities include selecting therapy activities, collaborating with care teams, instructing patients and families on home programs, and maintaining equipment and records to support care plans.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited OT program.
• Current state licensure as Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Proficiency with applicable state, federal, and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Selects therapy activities to fit patients’ needs and capabilities; observes and records progress.
• Communicates and collaborates with other health care professionals involved with care.
• Instructs or assists in home programs, basic living skills, and use of adaptive equipment; assists in implementing treatment plans.
• Assesses daily living skills and capacities of disabled clients; aids dressing and grooming.
• Assembles, cleans, and maintains equipment and materials for patient use.
• Demonstrates therapy techniques such as manual and creative arts or games.
• Teaches patients how to deal constructively with emotions.
• Attends care plan meetings to review patient progress and update care plans.
