Job summary

Recover-Care in Topeka, KS is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support licensed therapists in delivering OT treatments in a skilled nursing facility.

You will select activities, observe progress, document outcomes, and help develop and implement treatment plans; instruct patients and families in home programs and adaptive equipment; collaborate with the care team.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited program.
• Current state licensure as an OT Assistant must be active.
• Ability to meet applicable state, federal and professional standards.

Responsibilities

• Select therapy activities to fit patients’ needs and capabilities; observe and record progress.
• Communicate and collaborate with other health care professionals involved in care.
• Instruct patients and families in home programs and adaptive equipment; assist plan implementation.
• Assess daily living skills and aid dressing and grooming for patients.
• Assemble, clean, and maintain equipment and materials for patient use.
• Demonstrate therapy techniques and teach coping strategies for emotions.
• Attend care plan meetings to review progress and update plans.
