Job summary

Mercy in Missouri is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to assist with initial assessments and deliver individualized treatment programs for patients of all ages under supervision.

You will document progress, administer modalities, maintain records, promote department education, and collaborate with the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor to provide compassionate, evidence-based care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current license or eligibility for licensure in state of practice.
• BLS certification required; must be current before independent patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under direction from O.T.R./L., per policies.
• Document course of care including progress notes and continued need for treatment.
• Administer modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records for each patient.
• Participate in promoting education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of needs and behaviors across neonatal to geriatric ages.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
