Job summary

Sinai Post Acute is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide therapy to residents under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist. We value compassionate care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the AOTA
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist
• Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist
• Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) POSITION SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

• 1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;
• 2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;
• 3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
• 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;
• 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;
• 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
• 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
• 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
• 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
• 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

• 1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
• 2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.

• 1 Good organizational and time management skills.
• 2 Good verbal and written communication skills.

• 1 Interacts with residents, families, visitors and employees.
• 2 Carries out other tasks as requested in situations where hands-on intervention/participation may be required
