Job summary

HudsonView is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support residents under the supervision of an OT. The role offers full-time, part-time, and per diem possibilities with competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, aiding residents in ADLs and ROM exercises, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance resident independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program; certified/eligible for certification by AOTA BC.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by state.
• Strong organizational and time management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Implements residents' individualized treatment plans under supervision.
• Provides OT treatments including ADLs and ROM exercises.
• Performs ADL evaluations with OT guidance.
• Organizes and leads treatment groups with OT input.
• Instructs residents, families and caregivers in OT techniques.
• Collaborates with rehab team to tailor programs per resident.
• Maintains timely documentation for residents treated.
• Participates in resident care and staffing meetings.
• Identifies and reports equipment needs and repairs.
• Ensures high-quality care in a compassionate setting.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)POSITION SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)RESPONSIBLITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;

2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;

3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;

4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;

5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;

6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;

7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;

8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;

9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;

10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.

2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.
