Job summary

Echelon Care and Rehab Center in Voorhees Township, NJ seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support residents under the supervision of an OT. You will implement treatment plans, assist with activities of daily living, and contribute to a caring rehab team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program and eligible for AOTA certification.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Provides OT treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises.
• Performs ADL evaluations under the OT director.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups with the OT.
• Instructs residents, families and caregivers in OT techniques.
• Collaborates with rehab team to develop programs per resident needs.
• Maintains timely documentation for residents treated.
• Attends care and staff meetings as OT representative.
• Maintains and reports equipment condition and needs.
• Ensures high quality service in a compassionate setting.

Position Summary:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

1. 1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;
2. 2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;
3. 3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
4. 4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;
5. 5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;
6. 6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;
7. 7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;
8. 8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;
9. 9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;
10. 10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

Specific Educational/Vocational Requirements:

1. 1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.
2. 2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.
