Job summary

HudsonView is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join a compassionate rehab team. The role provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to enhance independence under supervision of a Registered OT.

A strong focus on ADLs, mobility, and individualized plans is expected. We offer Flexible schedule options—Full time, Part Time, and Per Diem—plus benefits including Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance, 401K, PTO, Holiday Pay, and Over time availability; Weekly

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program recognized by the AOTA; eligibility for certification.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan under supervision of a Registered OT.
• Provides OT treatments including ADLs and range of motion exercises.
• Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the OT direction.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups with the OT.
• Instructs residents and families in OT techniques under supervision.
• Collaborates with rehab team to develop programs and activities.
• Maintains timely documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends care and staff meetings as OT representative.
• Maintains and reports equipment needs or repairs.
• Ensures high quality service in a caring environment respecting residents’ rights.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)POSITION SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)RESPONSIBLITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;

2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;

3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;

4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;

5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;

6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;

7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;

8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;

9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;

10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.

2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.
