Job summary

King Manor Care and Rehab Center is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in Neptune City, NJ. The role pays $37 per hour and offers full-time, part-time, or per diem options. You will implement OT programs under supervision to promote resident independence and functional outcomes.

Responsibilities include treating residents, performing ADL evaluations, and collaborating with the rehab team while maintaining accurate documentation and delivering compassionate care daily.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required by the state.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary OT.
• Provides OT treatments including activities of daily living and ROM exercises.
• Performs ADL evaluations under the OT direction.
• Organizes and facilitates treatment groups with the OT.
• Instructs residents, families and caregivers in OT techniques under the OT supervision.
• Collaborates with rehab team to develop resident-specific programs.
• Maintains timely documentation for all residents treated.
• Attends care, staffing and other meetings as OT representative.
• Identifies and reports equipment needs and repairs.
• Ensures high-quality service in a compassionate environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant implements occupational therapy programs and provides occupational therapy treatments to residents to facilitate increased independence and functioning under the supervision of a Registered Occupational Therapist.

RESPONSIBLITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1 Implements resident’s individualized treatment plan as defined by the primary Occupational Therapist;

2 Provides individualized occupational therapy treatments including activities of daily living and range of motion exercises;

3 Performs activities of daily living evaluations under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;

4 Organizes and facilitates treatment groups in consultation with the Occupational Therapist;

5 Instructs residents, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist;

6 Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each resident;

7 Maintains appropriate and timely resident and non-resident documentation for all residents treated;

8 Attends and contributes to resident care, staffing and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist;

9 Cleans, maintains, identifies and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary;

10 Ensures that residents and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes the individuals’ needs and rights.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

1 Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be certified and/or eligible for certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board.

2 Licensed and/or eligible for licensure, as required by the state.
