Job summary

Mercy is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to support objective patient assessments and individualized treatment plans across all ages under OT supervision. You will document progress and ensure treatment needs are met while adhering to Mercy Service Standards and policies.

Responsibilities include initial patient assessments, recording progress notes, administering modalities, and collaborating with the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current license for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant or eligible for licensure in state of practice.
• One year experience is preferred but will consider new graduates.
• BLS certification required and current before care to patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessments and follow directions from OT/RT (Registered Therapist) or supervisor.
• Document patient care including progress notes and treatment needs.
• Administer modalities, exercises, or treatment procedures per policies.
• Maintain progress notes and department records for each patient.
• Promote education within the department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of care needs across neonatal to geriatric ages.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
