Job summary

Mercy seeks a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to support occupational therapy services under OT supervision. You will assist with initial assessments, develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and document patient care across ages.

You will administer modalities, maintain progress notes, and participate in departmental education, while upholding Mercy's mission and service standards.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
• Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant or eligibility in state of practice.
• One year experience is preferred but will consider new graduates.
• BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist with initial assessment on each patient under OT supervision and according to policies.
• Document the course of patient care including progress notes and treatment needs.
• Administer appropriate modalities, exercise regimes, or treatment procedures per department policy.
• Maintain progress notes and departmental records on each patient.
• Participate in promoting education within the department.
• Demonstrates knowledge of needs and behaviors across age groups from neonatal to geriatric.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as directed by the Inpatient Physical Medicine Supervisor.
