Paycom is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide pediatric outpatient services under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. The role includes developing individualized interventions, documenting progress, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support daily living skills, play, sensory processing, and social participation.

Ideal candidates hold an ACOTE-accredited OTA degree, NBCOT certification, and a PA state license or license-eligible status,

Qualifications

• Associate's degree from an ACOTE-accredited OTA program.
• NBCOT certification as a COTA.
• Current Pennsylvania State OTA license (or license applicant).
• Pediatrics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled treatment to clients under the direction of the occupational therapist.
• Develops individualized interventions to support the rehabilitation of clients with mental, emotional, developmental, and/or physical disabilities.
• Restores function, prevents disability, and helps clients to reach their maximum level of independence.
• Participates in regular supervision with the occupational therapist within state guidelines.
• Collaborates with the occupational therapist on client goals and discharge planning.
• Coordinates and supervises any aids or interns/students in OT, when applicable, as facilitated through the Human Resources Department.
• Maintains, cleans, and adjusts use of sensory, fine motor, and gross motor OT equipment.
• Maintains appropriate client records including daily notes and billing in a timely fashion.
• Educates clients and/or families in strategies to support progress towards therapy goals.
• Make appropriate referrals within the organization, as well as to outside agencies as needed.
• Collaborates as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Maintains client privacy and confidentiality.
• Completes required organizational training courses and maintains appropriate licensure and certifications as applicable

Job description

Purpose of this position:The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will complete treatments for pediatric clients in the outpatient setting under the direction of the Occupational Therapist (OT). The COTA will be responsible for developing and providing interventions for individuals experiencing challenges in their occupational performance with deficit areas such as activities of daily living skills, play, leisure, sleep/rest, social participation, and sensory processing. Individuals who the COTA may provide treatment to include clients with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention-Deficit-Disorder, Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity-Disorder, Global Developmental Delay, feeding concerns, and sensory processing difficulties.
