Job summary

Kidz Therapy Zone in Chambersburg is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dedicated team. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary group of therapists to provide hands-on support to children, fostering their participation in meaningful activities through evidence-based therapeutic interventions.

The role involves delivering play-based therapy, tracking client progress, educating families, and ensuring compliance with clinical documentation standards. We offer a supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program.
  • Possess a valid state Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License.
  • Current registration and licensure with NBCOT.

Responsibilities

  • Help children overcome daily challenges through therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver hands-on, play-based therapy in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Collaborate with licensed Occupational Therapists for treatment plans.
  • Track and assess client progress and update care plans.
  • Educate families on home exercise programs.
  • Ensure accurate documentation as per clinical standards.
  • Work as part of a healthcare team to enhance children's well-being.

Schedule:

Full Time, expected 40 hours per week.

Monday – Friday 8a-5p or 9a-6p.

Your Impact

As a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) you will:

  • Help children overcome daily challenges by supporting their participation in meaningful activities through therapeutic interventions.
  • Deliver hands‑on, play‑based therapy in an outpatient clinic setting, following evidence‑based, sensory‑integrative, and developmental approaches.
  • Collaborate closely with licensed Occupational Therapists to develop, implement, and progress individualized treatment plans.
  • Track and assess client progress, contributing to updates in plans of care and discharge planning.
  • Educate families and caregivers on home exercise programs and strategies to support continued progress outside of therapy sessions.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in alignment with clinical best practices and regulatory standards.
  • Work as part of a collaborative team of healthcare professionals to enhance each child’s functional abilities and overall well‑being.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant program with the minimum of an associate degree.
  • Possess a valid state Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant License as required by the State of Pennsylvania.
  • Current registration and licensure with NBCOT.
