Job summary

WPTT in the United States (New York region) is seeking a compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to help individuals achieve greater independence and improved quality of life through individualized therapy plans.

The role emphasizes collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, documentation accuracy, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current state certification/licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
  • NBCOT certification, if applicable
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Implement treatment plans/IEP's with supervision from a licensed Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist clients in improving functional skills in areas such as fine motor development, daily living activities, sensory integration, and adaptive behavior.
  • Monitor client progress, document outcomes, and report observations to the supervising OT.
  • Educate clients and caregivers on exercises, activities, and use of adaptive equipment to support therapy goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support holistic care and goal-setting.
  • Participate in team meetings, in-service training, and ongoing professional development.
