The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant assumes clinical responsibility in an assigned facility. This is a professional position with the primary responsibility of direct patient care under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist. Additional duties of an administrative nature are to be performed as assigned.
You will:
- Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, be responsible for following all state-specific laws governing the provision of occupational therapy in home care.
- Follow the treatment plan only as defined by the Occupational Therapist; perform only procedures that the COTA is qualified and trained to perform.
- Make recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
You currently:
- Have an Associate’s Degree from an accredited program.
- Hold an Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification/License.
- Demonstrate adaptability, compassion, attention to detail, friendliness, and courtesy.
- Possess a moderate degree of physical strength to assist patients, including the ability to kneel, stoop, and stand for long periods with or without accommodation.
