Position Summary

The COTA provides direct occupational therapy rehab care to patients under the supervision of a licensed OT, following all laws, regulations, and standards.

Requirements

• NBCOT certification upon hire, renewal optional
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT)
• Current licensure in applicable state, maintaining good standing
• Preferred: 1 year experience in post-acute or related setting
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation, must remain current

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in community health projects
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, email
• Coordinate with patients, families, support staff
• Maintain good body mechanics, make independent decisions
• Follow laws, regulations, policies, and procedures
• Ensure safety, patient rights, confidentiality

Essential Functions

• Follow treatment plans under OT supervision
• Accurately document and chart
• Use therapy software effectively
• Provide excellent customer service
• Assist in patient evacuation if needed
• Maintain dependable attendance
• Communicate effectively within the team
• Perform physical activities as required
• Proficient in English reading, writing, speaking
