The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) role:
This position involves clinical responsibilities in an assigned facility, primarily providing direct patient care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist. Additional administrative duties may be assigned.
You will:
- Follow all state-specific laws governing occupational therapy in home care, under supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
- Perform only procedures for which you are qualified and trained, as defined by the treatment plan set by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Make recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
You currently:
- Have an Associate’s Degree from an accredited program.
- Hold Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification/License.
- Demonstrate adaptability, compassion, attention to detail, friendliness, and courtesy.
- Possess a moderate degree of physical strength to assist patients, including the ability to kneel, stoop, and stand for long periods, with or without accommodations.
