Role Overview: Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) assumes clinical responsibility in an assigned facility. This professional position primarily involves direct patient care under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, with additional administrative duties as assigned.
Your Responsibilities:
- Follow all state-specific laws governing occupational therapy in home care, under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist
- Perform only procedures that the COTA is qualified and trained to do, as defined by the treatment plan
- Make recommendations for changes in the plan of care to the supervising Occupational Therapist
Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree from an accredited program
- Occupational Therapy Assistant Certification/License
- Adaptability, compassion, detail-oriented, friendly, and courteous
- Moderate physical strength required to assist patients, including kneeling, stooping, and standing for long periods, with or without accommodations
