Job summary

Prime Healthcare at Dallas Medical Center (Farmers Branch, TX) is seeking a Medical Surgical CNA to support patients in the Med/Surg unit during night shifts. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, help with mobility, wound care assistance, and help maintain a clean, safe environment under RN supervision.

Requirements include an active CNA certificate, BLS, and at least six months of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire.
• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physicians office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting.
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown; may assist with feeding and monitor intake/output.
• Take and record vital signs; observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses; may help with wound care under RN direction.
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms; ensure environment stays clean and safe.
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital.

Location:Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX

We are seeking a Medical Surgical CNA, also referred to Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Med-Surg CNA. A Med Surg CNA will assist with patient care by supporting daily activities, mobility, feeding, and vital signs while monitoring for any changes. Additionally, the Med Surg CNA, will help nurses by maintaining supplies, assisting with wound care, and ensuring a clean, safe environment.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, and toileting
• Help with mobility, including turning, repositioning, and transferring patients to prevent skin breakdown, you may also feed patients who need assistance and monitor intake/output
• Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration), observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to nurses, you may also help with wound care under the direction of an RN
• Stock and maintain supplies in patient rooms, ensure the environment stays clean and safe
• Assist in transporting patients within the hospital

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.
