Qualifications

• Must possess a current Michigan Certified Nurse Aide Certification or have completed a Michigan approved CNA training program and are eligible to test.
• One year of experience in the long-term care, hospice, or health care desired.
• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematics.
• Ability to verbally communicate with residents, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promotes rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality.
• Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of residents and interacts with warmth to support a caring environment.
• Follows care plans and reports observations to the charge nurse or supervisor.
• Performs routine tasks including grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, and assisting with transfers and ambulation.
• Completes documentation of care provided in PCC or equivalent system per policy.
• Observes residents for changes in condition and reports to the Charge Nurse.
• Ensures safety and infection control procedures and proper use of PPE.
