PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend in Springfield, Oregon is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for the Medical Surgical unit. This part-time, night-shift role at 0.60 FTE offers a competitive pay range and requires a current Oregon CNA certification and BLS upon hire.

You will support nursing staff, assist with daily activities, monitor vitals, and help ensure safe, high-quality patient care in a collaborative hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Observe patient conditions and report changes to the RN.
• Perform CNA duties under RN supervision.
• Provide comfort and support to patients and families.
• Keep rooms stocked and organized to support care delivery.
• Document care activities accurately and timely.
• Support unit operations (phones, orders, clerical tasks).
• Collaborate with nurses, providers, and caregivers to enhance patient experience.

Part-Time | 0.60 FTE | Night Shift

Pay Range: $22.35 - $33.16 per hour

The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

This position is represented by a collective bargaining agreement. There may be more than one opening on this posting.

What You'll Do

As a CNA on our Medical Surgical unit, you'll help patients feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while supporting the nursing team in delivering exceptional care.

You will:

• Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, eating, and hydration.
• Help patients walk, reposition, transfer, and safely move in and out of bed.
• Take and document vital signs, fluid intake and output, and other patient information.
• Observe patient conditions and promptly communicate changes to the nursing team.
• Perform CNA duties and treatments within your scope of practice and under RN supervision.
• Provide comfort, reassurance, and compassionate support to patients and families.
• Keep patient rooms stocked and organized to support care delivery.
• Document patient care activities accurately and timely.
• Support unit operations, including answering phones, processing orders, and other clerical tasks as needed.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, providers, and other caregivers to create the best possible patient experience.

What You'll Bring

Required

• Current Oregon Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, respectful patient care.
• Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to changing patient needs.

Preferred

• One year of CNA experience in an acute care or hospital environment.
• Experience caring for diverse patient populations across different stages of life.
