Job summary
PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in Springfield, Oregon is seeking a CNA for the Surgical unit. This full-time, 0.90 FTE position covers night shifts (1900-0730) with a pay range of $22.35–$33.16 per hour. The role focuses on hands-on post-surgical patient care, vital signs, and ensuring a safe recovery environment.
You will join a collaborative care team, with opportunities for growth and a strong emphasis on consistent shift coverage, patient dignity, and meaningful patient connections.
Qualifications
- Active Oregon CNA certification is required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills are important.
- Experience in post-surgical or hospital settings is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients after surgery with moving, resting, eating, and recovery.
- Take vital signs and monitor intake/output, reporting changes to the RN.
- Provide personal care ensuring dignity and comfort.
- Assist with mobility to prevent complications and aid recovery.
- Keep rooms clean, stocked, and ready for care.

- Take vital signs, track intake/output, and notice changes, then communicate clearly with the RN
- Help patients with personal care like bathing, toileting, and dressing, while preserving dignity
- Assist with walking, repositioning, and mobility to prevent complications and speed recovery
- Keep rooms clean, stocked, and ready so care isn’t delayed
- Document care clearly and accurately in the system
- Help keep the unit running by answering call lights, phones, and assisting with coordination
- Show up on time, every shift, ready to support your team
- Follow through on assigned responsibilities, as your consistency directly impacts patient safety and team trust

- Current Oregon CNA certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through either AHA or American Red Cross
- A strong sense of responsibility; you follow through and show up for your patients and team
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment while staying organized and attentive
- Clear, respectful communication with patients and teammates
