Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Daytona Beach is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our 12-hour day shift team. You will provide compassionate patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and support the nursing staff in a high-acuity post-ICU setting at our Daytona Beach location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or relevant work experience (3+ years).
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire.
• Hospital experience as CNA or related field certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient bathing using basin-less methods and assist with oral hygiene and feeding.
• Participate in hourly rounds to check on patient needs.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and assist with transfer equipment as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of bedpans, urinals, wheelschairs and related instruments.
• Keep patient rooms clean and orderly and restock supplies as directed.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by nursing staff.
• Support care teams to ensure patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform services for patients including bathing using basin-less bath products, oral hygiene, oral feeding and care of hair
• Participate in hourly rounds
• Transport patients to and from various treatment centers when necessary, and assist transporters in moving patients in and out of stretchers and wheelchairs
• Maintain the cleanliness of various instruments and equipment such as bedpans, urinals and wheelchairs
• Keep patients’ rooms in clean and orderly condition
• Maintain unit stock levels of supplies and equipment as directed
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED OR relevant work experience (3+ years)
• BLS is required within 90 days of hire
• Hospital experience as a nursing assistant, certification as a nursing assistant or experience in a related field (i.e. medical assistant, actively enrolled RN student)
