Job summary

Birmingham Green in Manassas, Virginia, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for full-time night shift. The position includes a new weekend differential rate and a commitment to exceptional care for our senior residents.

Responsibilities include assisting residents with daily living, taking vital signs, documenting care, and collaborating with healthcare teams to maintain high-quality, compassionate care. Strong communication and CPR/First Aid certification are required.

Qualifications

• Virginia CNA license required and active
• Completed CNA training with at least 6 months of long-term care experience (preferred)
• Current Adult CPR and First Aid certification
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and basic computer skills
• Punctual and able to work full established schedule

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) to ensure comfort and care
• Take and record vital signs; measure intake and output
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and interdisciplinary team members
• Document resident care and maintain accurate medical records
• Assist with ambulation and transporting residents
• Serve meals and assist with eating to ensure proper nutrition
• Change bed linens to provide a clean, comfortable environment
• Maintain a restraint-free environment and support fall prevention programs
• Participate in surveys, inspections, in-service classes, and staff meetings to stay current on best practices
• Complete forms, reports, evaluations, and studies
• Provide compassionate post-mortem care as needed

Requirements

• Active Virginia CNA license
• Adherence to our Five Behaviors: I learn, I care, I energize, I include, I engage
• Completed CNA training (required) with at least six months of experience in long-term care (preferred)
• Current Adult CPR and First Aid certification
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (polished, patient, courteous)
• Basic computer, math, and problem-solving skills
• Punctual and able to work the full established schedule
