Documentation of experience as defined by the CNM Allied Health Credentialing policy is required, including care of a normal laboring patient and recognition of deviations from normal requiring supervising physician consultation and/or management. Responsible for providing evidence of back-up supervision by a fully credentialed obstetrician at Parkview.
CNMs must attend the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses advanced fetal monitoring training every two years. They must be credentialed through the Medical Staff, both initially and on an ongoing basis. Additionally, candidates should have experience assisting in at least 25 cesarean section surgical procedures and perform the first assistant role at least 10 times per year.
Must have a current and valid California State RN license and a license to practice as a CNM in California. Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification is also required.
