Have started a unique collaboration to provide high-quality maternity care in Fairfield County, offering comprehensive support before, during, and after pregnancy. Our team of trusted midwives, OB-GYNs, and dedicated care navigators provide care to support the needs of our diverse community.

Together, Oula, provided by Stamford Health, is opening a practice location in Norwalk with additional locations to follow. This is an exciting full-time opportunity for a Certified Nurse Midwife who is passionate about improving patient-centric maternity care, to make history as Stamford Health enters into a partnership with Oula and opens the first maternity care practice of its kind in Norwalk, CT. As a CNM, you will be responsible for delivering the full spectrum of perinatal & GYN care, as well as shaping and refining the Stamford Health/Oula collaborative clinical care model. Expand your skillset and provide comprehensive support to patients before, during, and after pregnancy to deliver better outcomes aligned with best-in-class maternity care.

Hours of Operation

Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Overnight rotational call required, including weekends and holidays. Primary Location: Norwalk, CT

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide full-scope midwifery maternity (labor, birth, and postpartum) and GYN care at both the Norwalk clinic location and Stamford Hospital.
  • Facilitate clinical oversight of patients through all phases of their pregnancy journey—including working with the interdisciplinary team to establish eligibility for care for moderate/high-risk patients, ensuring clear communication aligned with prenatal and intrapartum care plans, conducting consultations, and transferring to MD care as required by clinical protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients during and between appointments to ensure questions are answered and concerns are addressed. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols that enable effective midwife-OB-GYN collaboration and the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Support resident training on the midwifery model of care, low intervention care, and collaborative care practice guidelines.
Qualifications for Internal Candidates
  • Active LM (Licensed Midwife) licensure in the state of Connecticut
  • Certification by the AMCB as a Certified Nurse-Midwife
  • Minimum two years of post-graduate clinical experience within a hospital labor & delivery unit and in low acuity maternity and GYN care.
