Job Description

UM, Capital Region Medical Group, a member of the University of Maryland Medical System, is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife to join its thriving practice at UM Capital Region Hospital, including its new State-of-the-Art Facility in Largo, MD. The CNMs will provide outpatient Midwifery Care at several outpatient medical office locations, as well as at its own women’s healthcare mobile unit serving underserved populations within Maryland and DC.

The Certified Nurse Midwife provides comprehensive patient care under the supervision of a physician, managing antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. Responsibilities include patient admission, monitoring, reporting progress, discharge planning, and follow-up.

Qualifications

Education

• Master’s Degree (Required)
• Relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Certification / Licensure / Registration

• BLS Certification (Required)
• Maryland Certified Nurse Midwife Licensure (Required)
• Maryland CDS license (Required)
• Maryland State DEA license (Required)
• NCC EFM Certification (Required within 3 months of hire)

Experience and Skills

• 2 - 4 years Midwifery experience (Preferred)
• 0 - 1 year Ability to scrub as a first assistant on Cesarean sections (Preferred)
• 0 - 1 year Proven skills in third trimester ultrasound (Preferred)
• Required Skills: Strong Verbal Communication, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Customer Service Skills, Proven Analytical Skills

Physical Requirements and Demands

• Adequate hearing to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
