Job summary

Lifepoint Health is seeking a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant I for a 3x12 night schedule on a 24-bed Med-Surg unit focusing on cardiac monitoring. You will assist with ADLs, monitor patients, document changes, and support nursing staff 7p–7a with rotating weekends and holidays.

Applicants should hold a state CNA I license and complete CNA training from an accredited program. BLS within 30 days is required; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current state CNA I license.
• Completed CNA course from an accredited school.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor vital signs and blood sugars.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living; document and report changes in patient condition.
• Measure and document input/output and weights.
• Assist nurse as needed.
• Answer call lights.
• Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge.
• Provide care appropriate to the patient’s condition/age.
• Distribute drinks and snacks.
• Maintain a clean and neat patient room and work environment.
• All other duties as assigned.

Join our team in a 24 bed unit staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (NAs), and monitor techs. This unit focuses on Pre & Post Cardiac Cath patients with 24 hr cardiac monitoring.

How you'll contribute

A Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I), who excels in this role:

• Monitor vital signs/blood sugars
• Assists patients with activities of daily living; Document and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition
• Measure and document input/output and weights
• Assist nurse as needed
• Answer call lights
• Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge
• Provide care appropriate to the condition/age of the patient
• Distribute drinks and/or snacks
• Maintain clean and neat patient room and work environment.
• All other duties as assigned

Applicants should have a current state NA I license and completed NA course from an accredited school. Additional requirements include:
