Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is recruiting a compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant I to join a 24-bed unit focused on Pre & Post Cardiac Cath care with 24-hour cardiac monitoring.

You will monitor vital signs, assist with ADLs, document I&O and weights, and support the nurse during admissions, transfers and discharges on a 3x12 night schedule. Prior CNA experience and BLS support patient safety.

Qualifications

  • Current state CNA I license and completion of an accredited CNA program.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • One year of healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor vital signs and blood glucose; document changes.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living and daily records.
  • Measure input/output and patient weight; report abnormalities.
  • Assist nurses with admissions, transfers and discharges.
  • Answer call lights and respond promptly to patient needs.
  • Provide age-appropriate care and maintain a clean patient room.

Join our team in a 24 bed unit staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (NAs), and monitor techs. This unit focuses on Pre & Post Cardiac Cath patients with 24 hr cardiac monitoring.

How you'll contribute

A Certified Nursing Assistant I (CNA I),who excels in this role:

  • Monitor vital signs/blood sugars
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living; Document and report abnormal findings or changes in patient condition
  • Measure and document input/output and weights
  • Assist nurse as needed
  • Answer call lights
  • Assist with patient admission, transfer and discharge
  • Provide care appropriate to the condition/age of the patient
  • Distribute drinks and/or snacks
  • Maintain clean and neat patient room and work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned

What we're looking for- a compassionate nursing assistant with a understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.

Applicants should have a current state NA I license and completed NA course from an accredited school. Additional requirements include:

  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred
