Job summary

Senior Lifestyle Corporation seeks a Medication Technician to safely administer prescribed medications and provide personal care to residents in our assisted living community. You will supervise self-administered meds, verify orders, manage stock, and maintain accurate MARs in compliance with regulations.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential for high-quality resident care. Responsibilities include vital signs, ADLs, documentation, and daily log updates while upholding safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience
• 1+ months of experience; Senior Living preferred
• Current Medication Technician certification depending on state regulations
• English proficiency to perform duties and communicate with staff and supervisors

Responsibilities

• Supervise self-administered medications in accordance with Federal & State regulations and Senior Lifestyle guidelines.
• Count and sign narcotics with approved personnel before accepting medication keys; report discrepancies.
• Order medications and treatments from pharmacy or notify responsible party when supply is low.
• Notify supervisor when supply is less than 2 days and medicine hasn’t been received.
• Receive and verify all medicines against pharmacy label and MAR; notify of discrepancies.
• Store medications properly and separate from oral medicines; date vials at opening.
• Inspect medications weekly and remove expired items.
• Compare current MARs with new MARs at changeover; report discrepancies.
• Remove discontinued medications from med cart and hand to supervisor.
• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, ADLs, meals; document care.
• Provide general nursing care: vitals, temp, BP, weight.
• Document in daily log; notify supervisor of concerns.
• Answer calls and assist residents as needed.
• Clean and restock medicine carts daily and weekly deep clean.
• Attend staff trainings; maintain medical charts within 48 hours.
