Job summary

Diversicare Healthcare Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Medication Aide to join our Kansas facilities. You will administer prescribed medications under supervision, document doses, and monitor patient responses to ensure safe care.

Responsibilities include vital signs, chart documentation, and coordination with licensed nurses. A CNA and state-approved medication administration training are required, with opportunities for career growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have successfully completed state approved school of medication administration.
• Must carry current acknowledgment card or certification issued by state agency.
• Must be willing to abide by restrictions placed on his/her job by state agency.
• Must be a certified nursing assistant.

Responsibilities

• Administers PRN medications after authorization by licensed nurse or physician.
• Organizes medication duties and documents routine medications and PRN meds as instructed by the licensed nurse.
• Documents all PRN medications according to State Standards.
• Observe and report reactions and side effects to the charge licensed nurse.
• Take and record vital signs prior to administration of medications that could affect vitals.
• Administer and document regularly prescribed medications after preparing them and record in the resident's chart.
• Administer oxygen in emergencies and notify the licensed nurse and document.
• Count narcotics and document administration as directed by the charge nurse.
