Job Summary

The Certified Medication Technician (CMT) will administer daily medication to residents in accordance with standards, regulations, and licensing requirements. Responsibilities include monitoring residents, reporting changes, and recording medication administration.

Principal Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments as per regulations and record keeping standards.
• Deliver routine medications as prescribed, verify resident identity, and document administration details.
• Observe residents during medication administration and report any issues.
• Document completed tasks and any changes in resident condition.
• Communicate effectively with team members about resident needs.
• Assist in meal service, ensuring residents are properly positioned, served, and hydrated.
• Provide personal care and observe residents for significant conditions or reactions, reporting as needed.
• Manage medication inventories and prepare equipment for treatments.
• Check residents regularly, respond promptly to call lights, and address resident needs.
• Assist with personal hygiene and provide comfort measures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Certified in the state of practice.
• Completion of State Approved Nurse Aide Training and on the State Registry.
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
