Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse. The role includes administering medications as delegated, documenting care outcomes, and communicating changes in condition.

Responsibilities also cover transfers, mobility, meals, and basic housekeeping relevant to resident well-being. Position is PRN with shifting schedules; benefits vary by status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Annual continuing education credits and certifications as per state requirements.
• State-specific CMA/TMA certification may be required depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance as assigned.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document outcomes, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns with the charge nurse.
• Assist with transfers, mobility, meals, and personal care; support dining experiences.
• Provide housekeeping and laundry services to keep living areas clean.
