Job summary

Good Samaritan in Canistota, SD is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse. You will support with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, assist with transfers, and help maintain a positive dining experience for residents.

The role requires CMA/CNA certification, calm communication with residents and staff, and adherence to state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum age 18; preferred.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• Annual competency testing and continuing education credits required.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a charge nurse.
• Assist with bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, transferring, ROM, and documenting care.
• Obtain and record vital signs; assist with meals and hydration; ensure a positive dining experience.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse; document outcomes.
