Job summary

Qualifications

• Must have a current CMA certification in good standing.
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name, dosage and time of administration.
• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or administration.
• Takes vital signs and monitors responses to medications, reports anomalies.
• Records temperatures, blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and intake/output as directed.
• Responds to signals and intercom to assess resident needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application or administers medication using specified procedures.
• Takes vital signs or observes residents to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions.
• Takes and records temperatures, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates and food and fluid intake and output as directed.
• Answers signal lights, bells or intercom system to determine resident needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
