Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program.
• Current certification or licensure as a Medication Assistant per Kansas requirements.
• Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and safety protocols.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed by licensed healthcare providers, following facility policies.
• Observe and document residents’ responses to medications, reporting adverse reactions to nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication records, including logs and charts.
• Assist in preparation and organization of medication carts and supplies for efficient delivery.
• Communicate with residents to explain medication schedules and provide reassurance while respecting dignity and privacy.
