Job summary

HMG Healthcare, through Holland Lake Rehabilitation & Wellness Center, seeks a Certified Medication Aide to safely administer prescribed medications to residents and support the health care team with accurate documentation and timely reporting.

The role requires completion of a Texas Medication Aide program, valid certification, and a compassionate, detail-oriented approach to resident care within a facility focused on quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program in Texas.
• Valid certification or licensure as a Medication Assistant as required by state regulations.
• Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and safety protocols.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to residents as prescribed by licensed healthcare providers, following all safety and procedural guidelines.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication records, including documenting administration times, dosages, and any patient reactions.
• Assist nursing staff with monitoring residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and promptly report any concerns.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of medications in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
• Communicate effectively with residents to explain medication purposes and address any questions or concerns they may have.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with medication administration best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to support comprehensive resident care plans.
